Rules and regulations

Voting

The vote mark shall be assigned by the clients of the establishment in two different ways:

  • via SMS to 320.20.43.809 with the following text:VOTO [comma]code of establishment[comma] and mark expressing level of satisfaction
  • via internet: www.10q.it and www.premiospitalita.it, by following the written instructions on the site

1. Clients of the establishments competing for the award will be informed about their opportunity to vote using the information cards.

2. The information cards will be personalised for each competing establishment and will clearly and uniformly display the code of the establishment and the voting method.

3. The mark will be a whole number (no decimal point), from 1 to 10, where 1 is the minimum and 10 the maximum; the mark expresses the overall level of satisfaction experienced by the client at the end of their stay in the competing establishment.

4. The SMS must be sent by a cell phone which displays the sender's phone number; failure to do this will render the vote void.

5. A phone number can vote up to a maximum of three structures per day for the entire duration of the competition.

6. A telephone number can only vote for the same establishment only once.

Eligibility for selection

Votes submitted by and not after 31 August 2008 will be eligible.

7. A phone number can vote up to a maximum of three structures per day for the entire duration of the competition. The same structure cannot be voted twice by the same phone number.

8. The minimum number of votes is equal to 20% (twenty percent) of the Total Theoretical Occupation (TTO), where Total Theoretical Occupation is calculated thus: for restaurants, TTO is the number of covers available, multiplied by the number of calendar days dedicated to voting, multiplied by 2 (lunch and dinner); for hotels, TTO is the number of beds available, multiplied by the number of calendar days dedicated to voting. The numbers thus obtained shall be rounded down or up.

Method of selection

The three establishments in each category with the highest average vote shall be selected.

9. For each establishment, the average vote shall be calculated using the accepted mathematical formula, rounding the sum down or up to the sixth decimal place.

10. In the event of a tie (point 9), the establishment which has the highest relationship between total number of votes obtained (numerator) and Total Theoretical Occupation (denominator) shall be selected; the numbers thus obtained shall be rounded up or down to the third decimal place.

11. In the event of a further tie, the winner will be selected by random draw.

Method of assignment of prizes

The Prize-winner for each category shall be decided by a National Committee.

12. The Committee comprises 9 members, who shall elect a President. There is no compensation for voting. Votes shall be cast by raising hands.

13. Each member shall be called to vote after looking at the technical voting, the popular voting and other information supports. Each member can vote for only one candidate per category. The candidate which receives the most votes shall win the Prize for their category.

14. The Committee, again by raising hands, shall decide by majority which establishment from among the candidates shall win the top prize.
